As an update to my mental health, I'm currently experiencing grief. Reflections of those who are gone from my life. Natural causes, cancer, suicide.
People seem to rush to get rid of grief because they see it as hanging onto loss.
But grief is really hanging onto love — which is why you always feel it.
Always remember, you loved them.
They knew it.
You're allowed to miss them as much as you do.
They are still a part of you. You carry them with you.
Living with joy doesn't mean you left them behind.
There will never be a need to "get over it".
Grief is the price you pay for the love we had. It isn't just missing what was, it's learning to live without what will never be.
